Just caught up again. Sorry @Obelixx I agree it's too simplistic to blame people for their own illness. You are right that many people could and should take better care of themselves BUT its not true of many others. Take my own case after my brother died unexpectedly I was referred to a consultant cardiologist. I have raised cholesterol and I am borderline pre-diabetic. I have always eaten fresh seasonal food, don't smoke, only drink the very occasional glass of wine with food, and I am reasonably active, I am under rather than overweight. During my consultation the Doctor looked at me with obvious sympathy, and said " You just can't fight your genetics " Sometimes life just isn't fair.
Absolutely right @Allotment Boy it is far too simplistic to blame people for their own illness. My father was over 6', weighed under 10 stone, played sport for the RAF, didn't drink, smoked a little, and had his first heart attack at the age of 35. I wish I had his weight genetics, but count myself fortunate not to have inherited other aspects as he died at 65 and my brother died at 64. Most of my genetics seem to come from my mother, general build, generally very little illness, skin and hair colouring etc. Both she and my Grandmother lived to 86, so I'm hoping that has carried over too.
The weather forecast said we were going to have two dry days before the weekend. It's now Friday lunchtime and it hasn't stopped raining yet so they're going to struggle to fit them in now.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
It's stopped here now @wild edges, so I might get a walk without being soaked. I'm too old for that game, and the newest shoes need waterproofing, which I keep forgetting to do...
I've not seen that particular tree @Allotment Boy, but there's a very famous tree in beautiful Glen Lyon which I've passed quite often en route to hills
Just found a little present in my Recycling box - a pot of Creme fraiche !! It had been partly opened, a bit of the contents eaten and then dumped in the box. I suppose I should commend them for not chucking it over the wall but they could at least have eaten it and licked the tub clean instead of leaving it for me to sort out
That's because people are a***holes @KT53 , but people have been chopping bits off it for hundreds of years for various reasons. The walls etc have been in place for a long time, but it doesn't stop disrespectful people doing what they shouldn't do. I often think I should go for a look, as I normally only see it from a fair distance, and only if I go the long way round into G. Lyon, via Kenmore, which is usually in winter conditions because of the little top road being very dicey. It was the reason I got another 4 wheel drive car.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
