Our Dyson was expensive,  I can’t use it so he does,  it’s a ball type,  I thought it looked light in the shop but it pulls my back so not risking it.
I bought a little push me pull me type in Argos for about £50. Best one I’ve ever had for picking up dirt and easy to use but the bags are small so need emptying every time.

My wife finds our cylinder vacuum cleaner heavy and awkward so I got a Vax Blade 4 which she loves.

The opposite is the case for me. Harry the Henry always keeps a cheerful face as she bashes him off the furniture and fittings though.

It seems that it's all pretty subjective.
I wish that shops would have a dusty corner where you could play with them before buying. People might be a little more inclined to buy in a shop rather than on the net if you could try before you buy.

We bought a stick, battery operated Hoover one and find it's so much easier and quicker than our cylinder Miele. It does need emptying nearly every time you use it but it did come with a range of tools and separates out to become a hand held one when you need it. Especially good for pet hairs apparently which is just as well as I leave a trail of white hair behind me everywhere I go.

I do find it a bit disconcerting to see all the dust on our laminate floors when the headlight's on!

It's dark today and so is my mood. I'd like to formally place a curse on all those who do not pick up after their dogs :|  Also why is dog crap so bloody sticky?

  • I agree completely with @wild edges .
My gripe today, tried to ring GP surgery with a prescription query,  they have a separate line for them doesn't open till 10, got the recorded message I was no 1 in the queue.    15 min later I was still  no 1 in the queue gave up. What's worse I now have an earworm of the wretched jangling hold muzak.

@Lizzie27 we got a shock when we used our Vax 'stick' for the first time with the powered head switched on.  We thought our Miele cylinder was powerful, but the amount of crud the Vax got out of the carpet was incredible.  Thankfully it only had that effect once so it must have done its job.

I did go to Curry’s which had a display of Dyson vacuum cleaners and a bit of carpet to try them out on. Our old Dyson was an upright, and got a bit heavy for me, so I was keen to actually get a feel of the Dyson rechargeable stick type. Works fine for me, good centre of gravity. We didn’t buy it there though, too many horrid memories of being plagued to buy extra insurance cover ( which always seemed to be more expensive than just buying a newer updated model when the old one packed up) I ordered it on the John Lewis website, and had it delivered to the local Waitrose.

Have you ordered a magazine or anything like that? It sounds as if someone had put the paper in the wrong g envelope.
