Ludicrous Christmas adverts....Don’t usually watch enough tv to catch many ads, and make a point of turning the sound off when they come on, but accidentally saw an advert for Morrison’s. Truly daft, and offensive to anyone struggling with bills at this time of the year, but the sight of the ‘family’ sitting around a table so loaded with food that there was absolutely no room for plates or cutlery! OK, they were obviously showcasing their Christmas merchandise, but I’d hate to think that any poor soul would think that such excess is either normal or necessary. Well done to Lidl for a more realistic depiction!
Couldn't agree more @Ergates I do the same as you when the ads come on but they get longer, more frequent and more ridiculous. Thinking about it tho, I suppose the over laden table will help towards the sale of new dining tables ( old one collapsing under all that food ) , new sofas and beds as after such a gargantuan meal, the old ones won't take the weight. Perhaps it's a co-ordinated sales campaign by the SM's and the furniture retailers
The ad that does my head in is that one for a perfume - Daisy. Makes me ridiculously furious because of the stupid repetition of the name. Thankfully I can pause it if I'm watching in real time, then wait a bit, and press resume, missing out the thing.

My gripe is the wretched green parakeets, they seem to be getting more and more persistent, I've had to stop putting the fat feeder out as the other birds don't get a look in.
If looking for something really piffling to complain about, how about people in TV-land, adverts in particular, being unable to hold a mug by the handle instead wrapping their hands around it looking ‘mumsy’ and self satisfied.
I've just seen that Doddie Weir has died. His battle with MND has been well documented, alongside Rob Burrows. Far too young. Kevin Sinfield, whose relentless achievements to raise money for research etc, has given so much to all those who are dealing with that horrible, horrible disease. Please donate if you can. Kevin has raised over 2 million with his most recent challenge.

That's so sad to hear @Fairygirl. Along with the other sportspeople who have raised the profile of MND he did tremendous work. We all know it can't currently be cured, but always hope people can at least hold it at bay, which he managed to do for much longer than most. RIP Doddie.
Kevin Sinfield has done a fabulous job in fundraising and awareness raising. A true friend who isn't in it for anything other than the love of a friend.
What I know about rugby would fit on a postage stamp @KT53, but I saw Kevin a couple of years ago on tv, when he was about to start his first challenge. I've been in awe of him ever since. To see his friend Rob wasting away is hideous. Doddie always seemed stronger somehow, but it's a vile disease and there's no escape - or not just now. I hope the efforts of Kevin, and everyone else involved, can make a difference so that others don't have to cope with it, or can at least get some useful treatment. I dislike the honours system, but if ever a person was deserving of it, it's Kevin Sinfield.

@BenCotto - at the risk of offending your sensibilities ... I always have very cold fingers and hands (circulation issues) - so I'm guilty of cradling my hot drink mugs as per cheesy adverts!
