It's always worrying when you see how many folk think it's ok to try that sort of thing @fidgetbones.  Worrying because they're behind the wheel of a car in the first place ...

Bet the garage owner rubs his hands in glee every time it rains. Kerrching!  ;)

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

It's not as if there isn't a bright yellow 3ft deep marker, as well as a "flood road closed sign"  Short of putting gates across it I don't know what else they could do.

No accounting for stupid @fidgetbones ;)
Although downright reckless might be more appropriate.
Hell mend them if their cars are knackered.  Hope the garage owner charges them plenty :)

@KT53. This thread is a ragbag, dressing-up box rummaging cornucopia of ideas, opinions and moans. To sort it into neat little boxes would destroy the serendipity.
    In London. Keen but lazy.

Are you related to Sir Humphrey from 'Yes Minister'? :D

They aren't even driving a 4x4 which everybody knows can get through any water no matter how deep. :)

I bet all those Land Rovers went well out of their way just to drive through that water.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
  • @Fairygirl, I  recall my Mother saying the same about the name  sidebottom. Perhaps it's more common in Scotland or it's just a story that did the rounds.

Yeah, but a Landy is a proper 4x4, not a Chelsea tractor.

    Possibly @Allotment Boy!
The problem is - it doesn't matter what you're driving. You have no way of knowing what's under that water when it's flooded, as opposed to just rainfall. Anything can be dragged down in a flood.
Some people just think they're entitled, and forget about the consequences. They're also unnecessarily diverting emergency services which are better employed helping people  who are actually in danger through no fault of their own.
