    Why devote BBC1 to news (of which there may be no more today) when there is the BBC News channel for anyone who is interested? The BBC's reaction to any Royal news is always OTT.

    That's one thing I do agree with you about.  Even if it was being carried on BBC1 and BBC News, I don't understand why other programming can't continue on BBC2.

    Consider it done, Hostafan.   I completely agree that we really shouldn't have to fund the riff-raff end of the "royal" spectrum, but I still find your remarks in dubious taste.  The Queen wasn't riff-raff, the lady had style.
