That's what diesel is here - petrol is is 6 pence cheaper.
However, if you drive a few miles to Sainsbury, it's £1.52 [bar a penny] for diesel, and 3 pence less for petrol.

Pity those who are driving diesels cos the gov told them to, and they’ve not been able to afford to change their car since … son gets paid a mileage amount for work when using his own car … but the rate doesn’t go up the the fuel price 😢

Yeah but diesel gets you more miles per gallon so fewer refills.  We get +/- 100km for 5 litres.

I have a diesel, and the car is pretty new, but it's only more economical now if you're doing enough mileage. I've hardly been anywhere in the last two years, and even hill trips have been less than usual.
I'm considering changing it, because I can't justify the expense.

Surely you'll get more hill trips this year @Fairygirl - better weather coming, Covid restrictions going and fewer people staying in Scotland now they can fly off to warmer climes.

Hope so @Obelixx -the problem has been that I had some problems with my thigh/bum last year. It meant sitting in the car for more than 20 minutes or so was unbearably sore, even with the heated seats to help. That has curtailed any journeys- no hills within 20 mins, apart from the wee one at the windfarm, which doesn't really count.
However, it's been much better, and I decided to test it by driving to the nursery  ;)
All fine, so I'm hoping to give my thighs a fright in the next few days, as we have some good frosty, dry weather in the offing.  :)

Might be even trickier driving with all those crossed @Obelixx ;)

    I'll cross, you drive @Fairygirl!

Stupid knee means I can't walk far even round here let alone up and down hills.  Oh and I share driving for dancing which I can manage cos it's a flat surface and I can strap up the knee.
