I’m just being curious: Wild Edges typed those two words without asterisks. Was anyone offended by seeing them written in full? We all know what the words mean and say them in full in our heads when we read, so why the prurience?
Words are funny things. I saw a Blue T*t on the bird feeder this morning. My dad is still known as D*ck to most of his old friends. Most swear words just refer to body parts and yet saying bottom is polite but ar*e isn't. The majority of parents I know teach their kids silly words like winky because they think that penis is a rude word. It's all a bit bonkers when you think about it.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
Ovo are still only taking the standing charges from me, they haven't billed me for the actual energy for a year. I pay a fixed DD the account is thousands in credit. All my attempts to get them to bill me correctly have failed.
No, I don't have the KwH prices as I never delved deeper into the offers. My current supplier (Shell) has just moved me to their Flexible 7 rate (leccy/gas) 29.484/7.319 per KwH and with standing charges of 41.65/27.22 (p per day). Not sure why standing charges ballooned as well.
I still don't follow how it is acceptable to have global prices for gas/oil - isn't that a cartel and everything against what a free 'market' is supposed to provide? But I suppose it's no different to De Beers controlling the price of diamonds by restricting supply. The market is grand eh? Especially when you have control over it.
The use of * instead of typing the full word, is generally to prevent over enthusiastic forum software assuming it's intended to be rude. One financial help site I use regularly replaces words with !!!!. In one instance a poster referred to feeling like he'd been robbed by Dick Turpin which appeared as !!!! Turpin.
