An invasion of those tiny bugs on my decking these days. Don't recall seeing them before. Any idea of their ID anyone? About 6 mm in length, triangular shape, moving not too fast, on the decking and also up the walls, dozens of them...

Is there a willow tree nearby? They look like Giant Willow Aphids but being flightless they are probably dropping off a tree above you somewhere.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

Looks like him, @wild edges but there's no willow tree in sight. I'm waiting for ID info from the French forum https://www.insecte.org/
  • Holly Blue butterfly.

They've also been found on poplar and some fruit trees apparently.

Thank you for that. It was a very small butterfly, which I have seen in the garden over the past few years. This is the first one of the year for me.

Further to help from the insecte.org forum (and @wild edges 's suggestion) I now think that little bug is one of the Cinara, the conifer aphids or giant conifer aphids. I do have a big Caucasian fir tree (Abies nordmanniana) in the garden, and just had a look and indeed lots of those aphids on its trunk.
