  It looks like one of the incheumon wasp, there are lots of them and I couldn't tell you which you've got.

  And I need to go and have a look what this fly is, unless anyone can ID flies' bottoms.
  
  All on parsley flowers. The flies and wasps, various species, love it!

  Any ideas on this? It arrived last night in the moth trap, along with loads of caddis flies, shield bugs and the odd weevil.   Looking at it head on it looks to have a shovel nose, two appendages like mickey mouse ears, and lacey wings folded well back. I only got three photos and then it took off.

  Well of course it does 

  Clay soil - Cheshire/Derbyshire border.
