    Lesser Stag Beetle. :)
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

And another attempt at focus stacking with some Green Shield Bugs. Nine photos blended here but I'm still missing focus points in the middle so it probably needs another few photos even for something this small. It doesn't help that the little bugs keep wriggling either so there's a bit of motion blur. The before photos are below, eggs and just after/during hatching, both unstacked.

Great pics of bugs & eggs, @wild edges! You can certainly master FS. Which software are you using? I used to use the---free---CombineZ software, but now am using Adobe Photoshop, with the same results. As you certainly know, the more intermediary photos you take, the better the results, except if there is too much movement.

No photo, but I just had a flying ant crawling over my glasses. In June?? 😯

I just love looking at your photos @Papi Jo and @wild edges I’ve only got a camera phone so it’s a real joy to see all these insects in such detail, amazing 🤩
