I should add these to the moth trap thread but they're probably more suitable here as by-catch. I often find some very tiny creatures manage to find their way into the trap, or like the spider, climb in to snack on the very tiny creatures. I haven't been able to confirm the ID for the mirid bug yet but the spider is very strange and quite uncommon apparently.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
I had a quick bug safari earlier today as the rough ground up the road from my house is heaving with moths and butterflies. The highlight though was this little brown bug which turns out to be very rare in Wales. NBNatlas lists two records in North Wales but those are the only records I can find listed publically. Only exciting if small brown bugs are your thing though. I think it's quite cute though
and here's a nice furry butterfly for the bug lovers who prefer a bit of colour.
