Now this is the oddest little hoverfly - Rhingia campestris. I apologise for the rather grainy photos, I only see it at sunset when the light is fairly poor.
Apologies readily accepted . Wish I could take such great pics, never mind their "grain"!
This is the Leaf-cutter Bee that I mentioned earlier in the thread, she has used one of the screw holes in the hose reel to make her nest, this is by the back door about 1ft away from another nest that was made earlier in the year.
She is in the process of sealing the hole.
