I'm quite jealous of all your butterflies! It's just too windy here at the moment and the brave few that come out are looking terribly battered.

Yeah I know - it's just another Bumble-bee, but my camera was handy and it would have been rude not to. The flowers are Liatris spicata 'Cobold'.

Not only would it have been "rude" but a truly missed opportunity. Nice shot (and nice flowers to boot). ;)

    Thankyou @Papi Jo & @Sheps.

I was very lucky with this shot at 1/100th sec hand-held (I needed at least f8). The rest from that session were binned despite image-stabilisation.

And my mistake - the plant variety is 'Kobold'.
    Clay soil - Cheshire/Derbyshire border

I play with plants and soil and sometimes it's successful

  • Does anyone know who this is? It's on knapweed and was very tolerant of me getting close.

Those bright green eyes! So distinctive but I can't find it anywhere.
  • Oh you are clever @Sheps, thank you! How on earth did you know?

I have this magical power @NormandyLiz it's called Google Lens 😊

So I can't take any credit unfortunately 😬
  • I think I need to explore that... So credit for pointing me in the right direction  ;)
