    Looking good @LunarSea

My wallet started twitching at the mention new equipment.

I'm contemplating going full macro and parting company with my big lenses, it's a tough decision because I know that if I do I'll never own a 500mmf4 ever again.

    Thanks @Sheps

Well I haven't bought any new camera equipment for over 15 years so I decided to get the 'L' series IS 100mm macro lens which wasn't available during my 'serious' phase. When I was in the shop I mentioned I was using a 40D and the guy showed me a pristine trade-in 60D body which he'd let me have for £190. Well .... what could I do?  :p

I'd hang on to your 'old' equipment. You never know. I've still got my first film camera, a Canon AE1. No chance of ever using it again but I just couldn't bear to part with it  :|

That's a great lens @LunarSea you can't beat L series lenses, I have three but not the L version of the 100mm Macro.

Good price on the 60D which will capture some really good images, looking forward to seeing more results of this combination.

    Hoverfly Eristalis nemorum on Veronicastrum.

I'm more inclined to say female E. pertinax. Nemorum would have smaller wing stigma and darker front feet.

If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

You are probably correct. I was not confident of the ID, there are several similar species.
