  • Mexico uses the metric system ........ 🤔

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

  • the fact is no country grows corn that far apart in a row.
row planting and block planting different. even farmers
with machines don't grow sweet corn 18in appart in row.
proper row block planting of corn is 7-12 in  a row and
18-36 between rows and distance between row is only to
    get harvest equipment between rows.

7 inches is 18 cm it is and easy mistake to make in
a place like uk that uses  metric and the British
    imperial system

isn't it funny that us in the UK have been successfully growing our food even before the usa was one of our colonies .
I'm sure we can manage to muddle through with out silly old ways.

I doubt many folk in the Cairngorms or Shetland are successfully growing corn either, but apparently, like Manuel, we know nothing... :D

I think the ignore button is probably the best solution for everyone now  ;)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

I'm sure he / she'll tell us how they can manage. He / She clearly knows everything about it.

I wonder which war , wargarden refers to?
The usa seem to be involved in all them lately
    Devon.
  • True story;
Height of summer, 20 years ago, we had the helicopter flying over head. Missing child in the village.
The church bell summoned the villagers to the cricket pitch, police took charge.
The sweetcorn field was the prime search area.
We fanned out, took a row each and, on the whistle, moved forward.
The child, age 3, had strayed from his garden.
    The mood was tense

    But it was Incredible...
And Sparrow showed us the way
    And, like the Lark ascending...
    A Prelude to sweeter things
    The rescue was Swift
    And  there was a Conqueror
    And butter wouldn't melt

It was hard going, beating those rows, but the poppet was found, 3 rows away from me, fast asleep.
    Moral of this story?
    Well, it's a bit corny...

Don't always measure the size of the outcome by the variety grown.
