Ante, absolutely marvellous! Thank you for sharing all your pictures. Saw this on TV the other day and thought of you. Just be glad that each of the onions you have harvested were not as big as this prize winner from the Harrogate Flower show!
It weighs 8.97Kg!
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Great pictures @Ante1. I gathered my pumpkins and butternut squash yesterday, I decided they were not going to grow any more as the plants were drying up. I grew the small orange pumpkins this year (Becky) as I find with the large type (spellbound) I only get 2-3 big ones. We mostly make soup with them so even if I have to use 2 at a time I will still get more this way. 14 orange pumpkin, and 12 butternut, (sweetmax). There are still 2 blue crown prince to harvest but the leaves are still green on those so I will give them another week or two.
@Allotment Boy, what beautiful photo. Those squashes look just perfect. I harvested only three, because other still have green vines.
We finally had rain. I mentioned on other place that here we don't have rain whole summer, and then in one day we got flood. Now I must wait with any kind of work on field till soil dries a bit.
I harvest all tomatoes. Stems are started to rot. Green ones go to the sun and other in sauce.
Carrots and radishes are ready for harvest, and next time I have order for carrot (10kg), and radishes (2kg).
Chard is thriving, and it will be even better after last rain.
A must for us is the Malvern Autumn show spent all of 8 hrs there didn’t miss much ! In the Canna vegetable Marquee spent quite a while had to look out for the Weight of the Onion competition and the Harrogate onion won !
Afternoon all. It passed over a month from my last post, and there was a lot of work in that period. Almost all veggies are out, and I still have swede, chard, lettuce, radicchio, cabbage and black radish on the field. We are now in very wet and rainy period, and it hard to work outside. It's still quite warm for this time in the year, around 20℃ every day. I'm sorry for lot of photos, but it's easier to show than describe everything.
We made lovely marmalade from wild rose.
Some seeds for next year. It's not all off course. 😁
