@Ante1, you and I may not appreciate those soaring temperatures but, as you say, it certainly looks as if the veggies and sunflowers are in their element!( ie loving it). Love sunflowers and yours are looking particularly good.
@Ante1 Your vegetables are amazing. And I love all your beautiful sunflowers. You work so very hard all year round, I do hope you get some holiday time too.
Well done @Ante1. I don't know how you keep it all going when it's as hot as that. It was around 36C for a few days here in Dordogne but, apart from courgettes, my veggies didn't like it very much.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Great pictures, no real heatwaves here (thank goodness), but it's been a very slow start to the season. Lots coming on now, in fact after a week away we have a glut of beans, courgettes, tomatoes etc. We only grow a few sunflowers in the garden but the squirrels wreck the seed heads so we can't leave them for the birds unfortunately.
@Allotment Boy, your veggies also look superb. Especially tomatoes and peppers.
I'll go again this afternoon to cottage, and more courgettes will probably wait for me. I left some red onions for me and my family, and rest of then are already sold.
@Allotment Boy, thank you so much for making me aware of possible plunderers of sunflowers. I do have those grey squirrel rascals round here - in fact I use squirrel proof bird feeders to deter them and it never even crossed my mind what easy targets sunflower heads might make.
Your crops of vegetables are stunning!
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Good evening. Just little update from last time. I harvested almost all my onions, and so far I have 113kg. There is about 50kg still on the field. This year is excellent for onions. Courgettes are on the end, and this year they were so productive.
Good morning all. I had very busy last two weeks. My sister was in visit, and she helped me a lot, despite she doesn't like to work in mud and with all sorts of creepy crawlies. All onions are out and final number is 186kg. We started with digging potatoes and hope it will be over till next weekend. Yellow carrots are also all out, and beets are next in line for harvest. Winter veggies are thriving after temperature drops, and now is much easier to work on open field. Now, it's photos time.😊
