I just now went out to see the storm damage and spotted this hellebores argutifolius flower. This plant grew from a seedling which was given to me by my friend in 2020 around the time when the pandemic started. It was so tiny, may be around an inch with 2 tiny leaves. Tomorrow I'll take another picture in the sunlight. 🙂
Oxford. The City of Dreaming Spires.
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth
This hellibore has been ignored by me, more or less, since we bought the place. It's outside the gate on the drive. I've never given it any care at all. This morning I saw the sun shining through the flower and thought how lovely it looked.

RIP my beautiful red-purple hellebore that had just fully opened and has been completely flattened and destroyed by Eunice
Hope everyone is keeping safe
