  • Morning all,

Glad to hear everyone is ok after the storm, @raisingirl, bit of a hairy time for you.

A day in the garden yesterday for me, mostly just cutting back and tidying up, nice to see the new shoots popping up though, nature is a wonderful thing, although I don't suppose those suffering over the last few days are quite so keen at the moment. I can feel the muscles in the back of my thighs aching a bit, funny, last week after skiing it was my knees, never used to be like this, it must be 'cos I'm 27 now. :

Off to cook the Sunday roast now for CdeG, has been a great success this winter, first time we have done it. The Parisiens are in town too for their holidays so will probably be busy.

    Have a good day all.

  • Good morning to all. It's lashing with rain and the wind is very gusty. I don't think it's wise to be out at all at the moment.
I'm pleased we are all safe.
I'm undecided what to have for breakfast- maybe croissants with lots of butter and coffee.

Oooh @janetfoss 😊 ☕️… still blustery here too  … croissants would be good … I keep meaning to see if sainsbugs still do those frozen ones in a roll to keep in the freezer for just such an occasion … I ought to do an online order later today … will someone remind me please …

    Morning all.

We will be travelling back to Norfolk today but it's still very windy out there.

Morning all, yes I can see a turtle too @Pat E. Thanks for telling us that Hosta is OK @Dovefromabove. I'm not sure what I'm up to today it depends on the weather, need to get going on pruning the roses......and the salvias.....etc!

Still windy here - looks like the Eunice clear up will have to be postponed til later in the week.

Went snowdrop peeping yesterday - we have a galanthophile in the village who opens his garden every couple of years.  He has about 150 varieties, all labelled, in his steeply sloping, terraced woodland garden.  A real treat.  I love seeing them all together - you really start to appreciate the differences in size, shape, form and markings.

Going to visit my sister today - she has a new puppy 🐶
  • Love snowdrops @chicky … my ‘Mighty Atom’ stands proud amongst all the others in our Wilderness … I can see it from the kitchen window 😊

Glad the Mighty one is thriving @Dovefromabove 😀.  I noticed yesterday that it’s parent clump is doing very well too - I’ve been promised an offset come April 😍

Morning all. Another windy day forecast and it's brewing already, rain too so I won't be going out. I considered starting the spring cleaning yesterday but all day sunshine put paid to that. Might start today.

So glad to hear that those of you down on the Southern tip of the UK have survived without too much damage. Apart from early rain, yesterday wasn't too bad for us, but today has come rolling in once again with rain and more strong gusty wind. We are still in the yellow alert area apparently.
So once again I say stay safe everyone. Hope your journey home is without incident @Busy-Lizzie.
