The thing is that if lurkers wish to post they will … and having done so they are no longer lurkers, and they join in on other threads or start their own, and this and other such threads will sink into oblivion again …
Its one of the reasons I try to make clear at the beginning of every new ‘Hello Forkers’ thread that all are welcome … as it’s a thread that’s usually near the top of the first page … and ’hello’ is pretty universally regarded as a welcoming greeting. 😊

That's right. It's been sadly submerged beneath a wave of unpleasantness over the winter months but recently the forum has been 'quieter' shall we say, and that can only help hesitant viewers when wondering whether to post or not.
To those whose only pleasure in posting is to insult, hurt and deride I'd like to say "Go and play somewhere else!"
No one should be worried about correct spelling, grammar, choices of style, what nationally they are on here. It is open to ALL who are happy to abide by the usual forum rules.
Long may this new phase of friendliness last.
Edited to add...it's always been here, but gets overpowered by the negative side from time to time. Let's do our best not to let this happen, then we can continue to welcome more people.
@Grajean Hi I think it is really good when another person offers the same advice that way the person asking can feel confident with the reply. So have a go and get involved.
I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.

Not really. A great many people have said they post once or twice but mainly don't feel confident to say much.
