Good morning Ante, Chive, Ruby and SGL. Ante, I'm a bit confused. Do you mean it is your car's MOT or have you to go for a medical check? I hope that today is not too bad for you.
Chive, my old cats used to sit with their backs to me when I got home from a holiday. It used to last for a few hours and was most unnerving! I bet Nel will be so happy to see you.
I went down to my compost bin this morning and my pond is full to overflowing. The ground is like a bog. It is spitting and spotting with rain so after I have finished making my apple crumble I might watch the Olympics and do some more knitting.

I am glad that it is your car Ante and hope that all goes well on Wednesday. I agree with you about the mattress too. I would rather sleep on the floor and I don't like pillows either. Your pictures look beautiful and that almond tree is gorgeous.
Sending apple crumble down the tunnel with Al to Ante and Chive.

OH, thank you LB. Your crumble will be perfect with tea.
Chive, enjoy your dinner. It might be a lot of almonds this year. They are now in bloom, and next few days will not be extra windy, which is important because almond flowers are so delicate.
I had an amazing phone call today. My mobile rang and at first I wasn't going to answer it but then remembered that one of my Quiz friends had got a new phone. When I answered a lady's voice said my name and I told her she was correct. She then said words to the effect that it had been a long time since we had communicated but that she was from an estate agents in Warrington. This happens to be the estate agent handling the sale and purchase of handy brother's house and bungalow so I assumed it was connected to that, but no. The estate agent had had a call from the people who had bought my Mother's bungalow some 20 years ago when Mum had to go into care. Apparently they have found a case in the loft with some uniforms in and they didn't want to throw them away and as this estate agent had handled the sale of Mum's bungalow they wondered if they had any contact with us.
The estate agent said that these kind people were going to drop the case off there and that I could pick it up next week. I then said, well handy brother could pick it up as they are handling his bungalow purchase. She asked which bungalow etc. and after I told her she said 'Ooh are you handy brother's sister?' which I was able to confirm. It quite took my breath away. I rang handy brother and he was as surprised as I. We have no idea how we missed this case when we were packing up the bungalow and we have no idea why it took the people living there so long to find it. Anyway, I am very touched by the actions of both the people who live in the bungalow and the estate agent. Now we two are very curious as to what else may be in the case. The uniforms are obviously Dad's.

We went to Morrisons then had a light lunch, a starter, in a local pub which had closed and re-opened recently having been given a makeover.
There has been a very nippy wind, not much in the way of warmth from the sun.
I've ordered a mattress topper from Dunelm. The Ikea mattress here is so hard after my French foam mattress.
LB, my car has a MOT. I hope that you enjoyed your day, do you have some crumble leftovers?π
Busy, i hope that new mattress topper will suits you. Quite opposite of you, I love hard mattress. Actually I would prefer to sleep on the plank.π
I know that winter is still not over, but last few days is very springlike. Today we had rain, then sun, then rain again. Now is time for my tea.
