Ooo, let's have Spring first- a season of anticipation and awakening. I love how fresh, new growth bursts into life, how birds build nests and later bring their young into the garden, how daffodils like to nod their heads at each other all around us etc
But yes, sometimes the winter is too long.
winter is ALWAYS  too long IMHO

I second that but they are now not as bad as the ones I remember enduring during my childhood.

I like winter!  Especially now we're here and they're not as long, cold, dark and wet as the ones we had in Belgium.  Plenty of time to catch up on reading, sewing, house jobs and decorating and some sunny days when we can get out and potter and plant.

RTBC  I finally planted the last of the free tulip bulbs that came with my order from Parkers.  I ended up digging a trench in the veg patch for some others that came out of pots last year, and unearthed an entire row of potatoes that I had forgotten to dig up. Now I need something delectable to go with best roast potatoes.

I managed to remove a hydrangea which has annoyed me for the last 10 years but I've tried and given up many time before.

I met a friend for lunch at a GC and bought a sickle, thought it would come in handy for swiping nettles along the road verge outside our drive.
