The drains are clear t2009 A man came this afternoon. He came from a building firm that does everything, septic tanks and the emptying of them, roofing, garden paths, stonework etc. The plumber who came on Friday suggested them. That plumber didn't come back on Saturday because his van broke down. He rang today to apologise. I've cleaned the yukky shower, dishwasher is on and the washing machine has been run through empty on a short cycle in case it needed a rinse. The man said he couldn't see anything the matter with the septic tank. He thought maybe there was limescale on the last bit of pipe that goes into the septic tank which snags on loo paper. He rinsed out the pipes. He said I can always call them if it happens again, they usually come quite quickly. Such a relief.

Daughter 2's daughter now has Covid, but I haven't seen her since the end of December. She was with her Dad last week.

Oh Busy happy days the problem has been sorted, he sounds like a very good chap 😅🎉 hope your granddaughter doesn’t feel too poorly now she has tested positive,
Rubee I hope you had a better nights sleep last night, your lounge trousers sound very comfy. Glad it has been a beautiful day for you, I spent some time in the garden this afternoon, it’s nice to get outdoors,
Hazel It sounds like your greenhouse is well stocked and the plants are doing well in there. I wondered where Al over wintered 😀
Time for tea, have a nice evening everyone.

Good afternoon everyone. Woo hoo Busy, back to normal for you now that the plumber has been. Definitely one to keep on your list of useful numbers.
RosieBB, it might be worth your while contacting the council to rid you of your rusty microwave.
Biglad, I was starting to get a bit worried when it got to 12:00; then I checked my text advising me of the boiler service and realised it quoted between 08:00 and 13:00. What an annoying morning. I cannot settle to do anything when I am waiting in for someone/delivery etc. At 12:40 I got a call from the engineer. He told me he had one more job to do and then would get round to me. He also asked me to turn off my heating which I have never been asked before, but it did make sense knowing that the boiler would be cooler for him to deal with when he arrived. He finally got to me at 13:20 and was finished by 13:40. He was a really nice young man. Needless to say, my day has been fairly unproductive and its Quiz night tonight on TV

It's just dead time isn't it @Ladybird4? I often wonder if they actually have appointments at the start of those time windows and how you'd go about securing an early visit so you can get on with your day :(

Biglad, I always optimistically opt for the earliest time slot available but when it stretches over 5 hours you just know that you are stumped. I don't think I have EVER managed to get a really early appointment so I have to go with your assumptions.

Shows how I was dragged up @Ladybird4 - the only question I've got right so far is the 9-dart finish one :D I know my place in the intellectual scheme of things ;)

  • Aww @Busy-Lizzie so pleased to hear the plumber arrived and got things sorted for you. Great that he will come out and help again if needed. Keep his number safe.
Sorry that your granddaughter has now tested positive. Hope it's very mild.
@Ladybird4 glad the man to service the boiler arrived. Shame it wasn't as early as hoped, I hate hanging around waiting for them, such a waste of time.
@Rubee hope you get a good night's sleep tonight.

    Minds gone blank, sorry everyone.
Night night, sleep well and sweet dreams everyone
