Good morning LB belated happy birthday wishes from me. Sounds like you all had a lovely Christmas Day. Mine was good but today I have all my children and grandchildren here for a buffet and exchange of presents and that’s Christmas for me. Fiancé is visiting his daughter and grandchildren too so it’s a busy noisy rowdy messy day and I won’t get to really sit down and probably something will get broken or spilled but that’s what I am used to and I love every minute.
I had a lovely day with Son 2. They all liked their presents. Present opening lasted some time as they had lots of small presents rather than one or two big ones. Some of us went for a walk in the afternoon, not DIL as she was looking after the 2 smallest who were having their nap.
We had scallops in a creamy sauce then roast beef and various veg then a delicious Christmas log made of pineapple sorbet, meringue and passion fruit sauce that DIL had made.
Got home at 10pm and had a chat with OH on the phone before bed.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Good morning Debs and Busy. Debs, that is exactly the sort of 'Christmas Day' I enjoy too. It cannot be beaten! Busy, your Christmas Day menu sounds very similar to what we had. We started with scallops and king prawns in a creamy sauce with a topping of breadcrumbs and parmesan. We then had roast rib of beef and turkey with all the trimmings - bread and horseradish sauces, roast potatoes, carrots, sprouts and parsnips and my sister's homemade cranberry and onion pickle. That was followed by figgy pudding and traditional Christmas pudding. I have never had figgy pudding before but it was delicious and full of whole almonds that added a nice crunch. Its no wonder I felt stuffed! No room left for the cheese (sorry Wallace!)

Good morning Rosie, LB, debs, Bussy and all to follow.
Happy Boxing day to all!
It seems that we all had a nice Christmas day and I'm so glad about that. Your dishes sounds so delicious. We also had a peaceful day. I have my tea and cake now. It's raining and it's' not very pleasant outside.
Hello all … glad to hear that folk seem to have had a splendid Christmas Day despite everything. We had a lovely time with my son who was able to join us around 2 after being ‘on call’ for Christmas morning.
The roasted rib of local Red Poll beef was wonderful … it was followed by chocolate mousse (French style, eggs no cream). Son was excused washing up duty as he had to be up before 6 this morning to set up and run a mobile testing station in Suffolk … We slept like logs and will have a relaxing day with lots of cold meats, salads and pickles, fruit and cheese … hope you all have as lovely a Boxing Day as we intend to … 😉

Good morning Ante and Biglad. Ante, I hope that Max is continuing with his recovery. Its not very nice here and I'm disappointed that they has been no snow - just to make it look properly festive.
Biglad - just DON'T mention the cricket!

It's forecast to be grim weather here for the next few days so could be stuck indoors watching sport and eating chocolate
Need to get cracking with garden plans though - it'll be spring before you know it!
