Oooh sorry! Well .... the bit of your computer that talks to the box with the flashing lights on the end of your telephone line (Wi-Fi) can be replaced with this wee gadget.
Clay soil - Cheshire/Derbyshire border. I play with plants and soil and sometimes it's successful
I hate handling garlic @KT53, so that might be of use to me. Cheers. I'm not a great fan of 'gadgets' as such, but I suppose it depends on the definition. There's lots of things I wouldn't consider to be gadgets. Hairdryers for example. If I had to pick something I like - it would be the battery drill/driver. I couldn't manage without that for all sorts of jobs. If I had to pick something I find useless, it would be the Garmin I bought for walking. I hate it
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Agree about the Drill/Driver. Just had to replace my old Bosch one as the motor was so weak after probably 20 years of use that it was unable to screw in a small screw. Sad really, it was a very good tool.

I much prefer proper maps for walking and also actually for driving. I do use satnav but could then almost guarantee I wouldn't be able to get to the place next time without using satnav again. Once I've got a route in my head from a map, I rarely need the map on subsequent trips.
I've never met a gadget that worked for me unless my spice grinder is a gadget. How are we defining gadget? (Apologies to pendants for gerund) Maybe I actually have one. Is a toasted sandwich maker a gadget. I have one. A stick blender.. I have one. I thought gadgets were things you bought in pound shops, Lakeland or Ikea marketplace.
A few years ago I took a punt on a small heat pad, and oh, god, it's gorgeous. You can lie on it or drap it like a blanket, wrap it around your shoulders or aching ankle. I find the sensation of using it is a bit getting into a hot bath - wrap around heat. Mine is washable (!), thin and super efficient. So much easier than a hot water bottle and is instant-on, instant off - no heating up time. I had no idea it would be so useful and practical. Rolls to size of a small hand towel and has a timer.
