For lid-opening ends, we have a small rubber disk from Lakeland. I have no idea how it works, but it does. Indeed I sometimes feel my whole life is akin to those police videos where heads are fuzzed out. That’s me, that is.
I've recently discovered a gadget in my kitchen. It's a massive black thing with lots of metal bits on top and windows and knobs. I think it's called a " cooker "
I've got one of those too @Hostafan1, it causes lots of problems! There is one gadget I've found very useful - a digital weather monitor which shows indoor and outdoor temperatures and humidity levels, plus a prediction of the weather pattern over the next six hours. It helps convince me that I've got the heating thermostat at the right level and decide on the day's activities which are either to garden or walk!
Arthritic hands make needing a jar opening gadget a necessity. Mine is one with a plastic loop which one puts round the lid. Cannot tighten it enough to open the lid, but it does give me a better grip. If that fails, then I tap round the edge of the lid with a wooden rolling pin. Not too hard, but that loosens the lids nicely.
I've really enjoyed the Apexel clip-on macro lens this year - again recommended on the forum. I have used it a lot this summer. @B3 sent me hers. It's a high quality, bashproof lens with few moving parts and no focus knobs, so it could well last a lifetime. My eyes don't work very well, so full scale SLRs are quite a lot of work to use for me. The lens is so quick!
I've been reflecting that a remarkable number of things in my house I have bought on recommendation from the forum members, not just plants, in the last five years - gizmos, arts materials, cameras.... Pretty much all my plants, have a connection to the forum - often bought after discussion or review here.
My best gadget is called a Hairdryer. I'm old enough to remember the good old days when you either had to let your hair dry naturally or kneel down in front of an open fire for hours while it dried. I still remember the great excitement when my parents bought me one for a Xmas present.
