Can you imagine the amount of old folk being admitted to hospital with broken arms due to falling when doing their star jumps? I'm joking with that, but it isn't far from the truth. As for the porridge. How many bowls are they having to make, and how exactly are they making it? Oh yes - on a hob or in a microwave. Last time I looked - they need power....
What a load of b***ocks. Patronising is an under statement. They're discussing it just now on the radio.
Anyway - cuddling a pet wouldn't even work. I tried that before. The goldfish wasn't happy at all....
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
If you want to see 'patronising' in action, try finding a clip of Esther Rantzen on BBC Breakfast some years ago. She was on with an elderly gentleman when she came out with something along the lines of "He's 85 years old, and so spritely. Isn't it wonderful" That was accompanied by patting his leg as if he was some kind of geriatric pet!
but keep doing your star jumps and goldfish cuddles to save energy. I wonder how much bailout money they asked for to keep flying? and I wonder why this wasn't raised at all during COP26
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
and I wonder why this wasn't raised at all during COP26
International aviation is discounted from national carbon budgets so nobody is counting it. It's on the 'too difficult' pile. (It's quite a big pile - in more than one sense)

@Fairygirl
Ken made the same joke earlier, but, as I have a similar sense of humour, I'd already thought of it when it was on the news this morning.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Maybe you could ask a local pigeon? They seem quite obliging if you have some food.
Our poorly dog is currently almost hairless having had so many things stuck in her so we've turned the heating up to keep her warm
