  • Thanks @Busy-Lizzie, I had quite forgotten what it looks like.ย  At least it's stayed fairly dry, managed a good session of digging on the plots this am.ย

Afternoon all. Just back from a long lunch with a couple of friends we hadn't seen since their daughter's wedding earlier this year. Nearly didn't make it to the restaurant, there was a nasty crash about 1 minute ahead of us on the A3 just north of Guildford. Looked like a Land Rover towing a trailer had lost control and trashed 3 lanes of traffic. Somebody's Xmas is ruined.

    Afternoon all.ย
I've never seen Dr Zhivago, but I've never seen the Sound of Music,The Wizard of Oz, Casablanca, Gone with the Wind. Any Star Wars films, and I couldn't get to the end of Brigitte Jones, love actually or pulp fiction.

Not sure whether to wish you happy anniversary or not @Hostafan1, did you ever think you'd be there that long?
It's also the 1st anniversary of when my daughter first saw her present house, she hadn't remembered until I told her a few minutes ago. I remember well the sheer relief that she'd found somewhereย  nice to live.

Glad you're doing well @Yviestevie, keep up with the pain relief though.

Evening all!ย  It's been clear, bright blue and sunny here too but very cold.ย  ย we've been to see an exhibition about the Gauls in the Vendรฉe - actually the Picts in this area and other tribes a teeny bit further north. Very interesting stuff and a lovely eco friendly building housing all sorts of Vendรฉe history exhibits so we'll be going back.

Set to get down a "feels like" -10C tonight but be be a plus 10C tomorrow and a bit warmer on Thursday.ย  Off to buy plants for my Xmas prezzie tomorrow and then gardening on Thursday.ย  ย Next week it's the battle of two fronts, one in the Bay of Biscay and one form Russia so some of us are going to get very cold indeed.ย  Treasures into the polytunnel then and what a blessing the chooks have regrown nearly all their new feathers.

So pleased your op has worked well @Yviestevie and that you've got Moira back @punkdoc.ย  Give a her a few days to get over the fatigue and treat her to some good chocs.ย  Good news about the blue badge @Lizzie27.

That house is wonderfully OTT @chicky.ย  People are fare more restrained here but a few in the more populated areas give it a good go.ย  ย We have a few lights outside but plenty indoors and I'll be making a wreath for the gates tomorrow since we can't hang one on the front door.

Still haven't decided what we're eating on Xmas Eve or for Xmas brunch but I have just started off some gravadlax and may well make Florentines and mince pies tomorrow.ย ย
