Of course it's ok @janetfoss ... take things at your own pace ... but not a great deal of confidence is needed really, we're all just ordinary folk who like gardening ... and some of us have been doing it a very long time, and some of us are newbies, and the rest of us are somewhere in between ...Β
Gardening in Central NorfolkΒ on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Thank you Dove. That's a kind thing to say to a nervous newbie.Β Having said that, I have just spotted the Flower Count thread- I have several white hellebores in flower right now which are simply gorgeous- even raising their proud heads to 'show off' to me; amongst other delights! I shall make a list tomorrow!
I'm a newbie too janetfoss but after a day or two you won't feel like one because everyone is so friendly and helpful. I look forward to seeing your flower tomorrow.
Iβm going to have to rootle around under the Sarcococca by the front door tomorrow to see if my Hellebore βSnow Loveβ has appeared yet. I really must cut the Sarcococca back β¦ itβs doubled in size this year.Β

Hello and welcome @janetfoss Please don't feel nervous,Β no one here judges or feels they have a right to! Gardening is all about continually learning in the same way a garden is never really finished!Β We are all interested in the new projects, questions,Β successes and failures as well as just those little things that bring is joy that only a fellow gardener would understand!! For example... Had to share my first crocus and my hubby is a computer nerd so it wasn't even worth showing him, but I knew you lot would share my joy!! π
Well, I was messing around in the garden today and a new hosta leaf is coming through. Poor, wee things, they won't know where they are or what they should be doing.
