That’s really tough @Busy-Lizzie … I heard that earlier and thought of you both. The way it was reported it seemed as if there was a bit of flexibility… but I couldn’t be sure if the flexibility could apply in your OHs case ((hugs)).
As far as I’m aware there’s not been anyone of any consequence in the UK suggesting that France is being unreasonable.

It's obvious that the UK has more Covid cases than France because they do more than twice as much testing. I don't think France really has much idea how many cases they have. I expect a lot of people with Covid just go to bed at home, they don't want to go off to a pharmacy to be tested when they don't feel well.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
I'm really sorry your OH can't join you for Xmas and probably for some time into the new year @Busy-Lizzie and anyone else stuck on the wrong side of the Channel.
Plenty of statistics available online to show how many are testing each day and how many of those are positive. Daily testing and cases are rising but not as fast as the UK - yet.
I have never done a lateral flow test but I do know people who have to do one before visiting elderly parents or disabled relatives in homes. Demand for the tests in France has increased considerably in the last couple of weeks from people wanting to test themselves, or who have been notified of contact with someone testing positive or for children - https://www.connexionfrance.com/French-news/Lateral-flow-tests-France-Shortages-at-pharmacies-as-demand-rises
Good looking cakes @D0rdogne_Damsel. We've decided not to have one this year - never eat it till Easter anyway - and we still have 2 small puds left from last year and they'll keep OH happy while Possum and I have something chocolatey or sticky toffee pudding.

We are currently going through at least a box a week - me before every college session, every volunteer visit, and before every visit to the dementia day centre. OH before he goes to his woodworking classes, and Chicklet every time she ventures beyond the driveway.
And littlest Chicklet, in the London hotspot, does them daily, if not twice.
Thankfully all negative so far….long may that continue 🙏🏻
Can’t believe you don’t do one before each SM / market visit , never mind about before seeing your octogenarian friends at patch. And surely your OH tests before his golf matches ???
@Yviestevie got everything crossed that your op goes ahead and you make a speedy recovery….. lovely that you have spent so much time making sure your garden is ok …..and I hope that the garden repays you by being the sanctuary you need whilst you get back on your feet 😘😘😘
Morning all. I haven’t read back from yesterday yet, and plan on a trip to town this morning, but by the time we got back from Canberra yesterday, I was totally exhausted, so flopped on the lounge and napped until it was news time, then a bit more of Line of Duty then bed. 😁
Good morning all 😃 ☕️ Its a very foggy morning. Stay safe out there everyone.
We do LFTs before meeting up with anyone, and OH follows recommendations to test at least twice a week as he’s working, albeit in a very well ventilated space, with screens at the tills, keeping as distanced as possible and wearing a mask and visor.
I’ll be dropping presents off at @WonkyWomble ‘s place and then at Bro’s place … not going indoors … I’ll do LFTs before I go and they’ll do them before I arrive.
My son has a PCR test every 3/4 days at work and still does a LFT at home before going to band rehearsals or visiting friends or family. It’s the responsible thing to do.

I admit we are not as diligent as some of you, but we certainly do them before meeting up indoors with people. We will do them at Christmas before family come for dinner.

I'm about to pack the car with presents and food, then I'm off to Daughter 2's for the weekend.
I found some French websites with tests for sale but mostly sold out. Didn't know you could buy them online here.
Daughters have had 3 vaccinations each, teachers, and the children have tests at school, the older ones are vaccinated too.
