How weird, Dove! Punkdoc, I got back to sleep around 5am and then slept through till 8.30. I suspect I was only woken by the Green waste recycling lorry, making a terrible racket. I hope it will get a service while itโ€™s off duty during January, the lift mechanism for the bins was squealing something awful, sounds well overdue for some lubrication or whatever they do to it. Luckily I wasnโ€™t feeling fed up, the book Iโ€™m reading, which had started off rather sombrely has become a lot more cheerful, and kept me entertained for an hour. OH reports that he doesnโ€™t sleep well when Iโ€™m away.ย

Afternoon all. Xmas tree bought, bottom sliced off and now in a bucket of water till tomorrow. Farm which sells them said they didn't have much stock left as they have been selling like crazy for over a month. Not sure I could keep one looking good for that long.

Which species did you buy steephill?

Well, I didn't even make it until the 6 o'clock news. I sat in a comfortable chair with my book and before I knew it I'd had a little snoozette. I shall now be able to watch the news in the sure and certain knowledge that I've cut my chances of falling asleep before the end down by half.ย

@Uff, that's what this time of year is for.
How can you lie there and think of England

I got a Fraser fir this time, nice thick foliage and a good shape.

Oh crikey don't encourage me punkdoc. I'll end thinking I'm old instead of knowing I am if you get what I mean.ย

Our tree is standing in the garden for now, will bring it in next week.
Last ย year we put it out on the patio. Still in its water clamp type container where it still had all itโ€™s needle on until June. I only dumped ย it then because I needed the room.
    not bad value for ยฃ25.00.ย

I particularly like that one, I like the roundness of the needles on the branches, I think it has the edge on the Nordman.ย

Treated ourselves to a walk on the seafront, plenty of fresh air and a bit of exercise. Iโ€™ve now braved the spiders in the loft, and brought down the four year old artificial tree. Itโ€™s now assembled in the corner of the living room. Iโ€™ll post a picture on the other thread when Iโ€™ve decorated it.

    Evening.

Strange @Dovefromabove ... wonder what the story is there??

Does that mean they canโ€™t offer you the care at home package at all @Hostafan1?ย
I know social care is in big trouble but not being able offer palliative care at home is a disgrace. ย I hope you can find a set-up that ensures hubby is safe, comfortable and cared for with you present as much as possible. Hugs.ย

Had a quiet day off and just had sausage and mash, with parsnips and peas, so full up now. Bought a few gifts online as didnโ€™t fancy a toy shop trip as probably a mother-load of germs in there ๐Ÿคข (yes I know I work in a hospital but kids = germs IMO).ย

Hope all are ok. Enjoy tree decorating, all those partaking.ย
