I have, over time, had several phone calls from, apparently, BT, Talktalk, Virgin engineers to sort out my faulty internet connection. Fortunately for me, I have never been with any of these companies!
I must've had dozens of those too. I have, on occasion, confused the scammer by "offering" to give him my password before he'd asked for it! I, too, have been lucky that the "engineers" worked for the wrong company!
We've had those calls supposedly from BT etc. Our internet provider is one of the smaller ones that the scammers don't seem to bother with (not yet anyway). I suppose the hit rate is too low.

I've never had that one but as I don't have any children, I'd probably just tell them they'd got the wrong number and hang up.

That's an option, of course. However, she knew from the start that it was a scam, so she gave her (them??) all the time in the world to act it out before disappointing her (them)!
Unfortunately millions of people do have bit coin accounts and if only one of those people fall for it they’ll make a fortune. Same as the bank email scams, someone has an account with that particular bank and some will fall for it.
