Found this in answer to my question earlier in this thread.

Not easy to see the difference between the correct address and the Scam one unless you are looking very closely. Look at the letter a in bank.

This is so worth pointing out, Palustris, as scammers always find ways to trick us.

I just heard a man on the radio saying he receives many bank related calls from scammers but has no idea what to do about them.  He's registered with the TPS.

I know from personal experience that, unfortunately, scammers take no notice of the TPS.

To report a bank-related- fraud or scam, call 159, especially if you’ve received a phone call from the bank asking you to make a payment.  (159 works in the same way as 101 for the police or 111 for the NHS.)

i regularly get an automated message from "your bank" saying £300 charged to Amazon and 1100 to Western Union. Funnily my OH gets the same. I just put the phone down.

This is a useful service if you get phone calls from an unknown number.

That's good as it keeps you safe but, in order to help others too, a scam should also be reported.

    How true!  Thank you, steephill.

I should like to remind everyone that anyone can join for free the scam info of the Which? magazine: [email protected]

They cover many of the scams but not all of them, of course; so, we will all continue to need the support of the members of this Board.

We keep getting an email from BootsRewards. But since it has an msn.com address rather than Boots.mail and the address is in America it cannot be anything but a scam.
