My email address seems to be popular with scammers, tigerburnie!

I've just received this wonderful email.  Screwfix, whoever or whatever they might be, have sent me good news:

    OH has called them, "Screwloose".

    So much envy...!
Screwfix are actually a genuine ( and useful ) company but as you rightly suspect, they aren't likely to be offering you a prize  :D

If you look at the Email address of the Screwfix prize offer, it is not from Screwfix. We get one of these at least once a week.

Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

  • Not an Online scan but door to door.  People professing to be ex prisoners, homeless or deaf mutes either offering rubbish for sale or asking outright for cash.
This was prevalent before the Covid issue and then there was a break for a couple of years.
They appear to be back again so pays to be careful when you answer the door.
  • I've had them come knocking many times over the years and they can be quite abusive. A nuisance, the police tell us not to open the door to them. We text our neighbours if we see them around.

I think these generous people are hoping one of their... tricks will work.

OH, on checking his messages this morning, discovered that his "UBER account" (having never used uber, he didn't know he had one!) has been "restricted".  He was advised to click on the supplied  link...

The UBER scammers were pretty busy several months ago too.
