  • Not sure why but we watched a Ch4 programme last night, about QAnon. It's a movement in the US all conspiracy theorists,  and well- extremists.  We were at  intrigued and appalled in equal measure.  The worry is some people here seem to be going the same way, anarchy anyone?

Dove, that's pretty much what my other friend said, the 20 minutes early was a problem because she had locked up and left her house, instead of waiting for her friend, she didn't want my dogs going to her,( nope she wasn't dressed up old jeans) she let herself in. If she'd just met outside,as planned this wouldn't have happened. No, don't really get on with the friend. Wish I'd said no and met her there. Meal didn't go well,(for me) checked menu decided, yes,it did say subject to change.... 3veggie options all pasta, sides, were garlic or cheesy bread or chips.Said friend is opinionated and always right, have known her several years. It didn't make sense, because her old man dropped her off,and restaurant is in completely the opposite direction.
Is she really a friend you enjoy sharing and spending time with ... or is she just someone you find it hard to say no to?

Watched a little bit of the Qanon programme, on in the background. Made the hair on the back of my neck stand up! I’d like to think that anything so extreme wouldn’t be able to flourish quite so easily in the UK?

Yes, I enjoy spending time with her,and come on,you know I do have a problem saying no. I'm not inflexible,we haven't even arranged Christmas,it can be sorted the day before,as far as I'm concerned.I think I'm too phlegmatic, that's the problem, good old NB she won't mind!

@Nanny Beach if you won't learn to say No you can't complain about feeling put upon!

Like everything else it takes practice - and is a lot better to say no and live with it than to be constantly churning over how you've been "had" again?  And again.  And again.

‘in line with government recommendations’. That’s the one I always tick.

How is anyone supposed to turn Vegan when Waitrose is offering a block of cave aged, truffle infused Kaltbach cheese for £1.57? Last time I went it was a very fine Cornish Yarg which was both creamy and delicious. I mean I'm sure vegan cheese is fine and leaves you with a lingering aftertaste of self satisfaction, but it'll never be the same. :(
