    It's odd isn't it @philippasmith2, how easily ash and sycamore self seed but you have to work hard to get acer griseum, eucalyptus, abies and other desirable trees to germinate!

    Perhaps they'd be more desirable if they were difficult to grow🤔

    I think that's why some things we consider "weeds" ? : they germinate too easily?

    I like the ones we have but don't want any more @B3 whereas I do want a eucalyptus, abies N and acer griseum.

    I have grown E.gunnii from seed, very easy just left it outside over winter, then a bit of heat in the Spring.
    Now have several which I coppice every Spring.
