I'm curmudgeonly because I was working in the polytunnel, ( out of the rain ) and had to give up at 4.45 as it was too dark to see.
    Have I ever said " I HATE WINTER "?
There's another 6 weeks or so to go yet before longest night - you could be having to give up at 4 pm  :D
You could always consider Outdoor Lighting of course - I believe there are one or 2 posts which could give you a bit of advice on that score ;)

If only there was someone who could help with that one, maybe with an endless stream of photos to accompany it?

@Hostafan1 I have 3 solar powered lights hanging in our polytunnel in case I'm ever caught there short of daylight.  Might work for you?

Will somebody please start an "Arguing with Doghouse Riley" thread and move this carp there.  It takes two sides to start, and continue, a fight.
It's why the ignore button is so useful  :)

The problem is, so many people are getting involved there would hardly be anybody left if I set them all to 'Ignore'.

Two timber raised beds, only created 9 years ago have rotted badly and have to be completely rebuilt.  I had a message from the people who will be doing the work saying they hope to start in a couple of weeks.  That means I have to dig out all the plants which is a pain, but I will also have to cut back everthing that is climbing over the trellis as that has to be removed.  Nine years worth of growth gone and there is no way to avoid it.
If the prat who built them in the first place hadn't already died, I throttle him!  He claimed all the timber used was pressure treated and would be good for at least 20 years.  Both companies who came to quote to rebuild them said they had not been pressure treated, possibly had treatment applied with a brush!

There's just one person people need to press ignore on @KT53. Then all the nonsense would be invisible because it would just be talking to itself instead of goading others. Result   :)

I had the same problem with my boiler installation - the bloke, sorry- the cowboy, who fitted it died.

  • It is said that what other people think or say about me is their problem. How I respond is my problem.
    Just saying......
