    Hello folks,
Dry, sunshine and mild here most of the day. Did an earlyish gallop down to fetch the paper as we had visitors expected at 10.30, OH's lovely nephew and his wife who live not far from us. He works in wood, specialising in green oak buildings and has recently ventured into building bespoke wood kitchens due to popular demand, so busy, he's having a job to keep up. They have invited us to a family 'do' in early Dec which will be something nice to look forward to - one of the advantages of a large family is that someone, somewhere, is having a do quite often.

Rather you and me @AuntyRach, I wouldn't fancy jury service at all, although as I have a legal background, I can't be called I believe. My sister once served on a long criminal trial and got quite upset by it.

My sausage bake was quite tasty but the timings were out so the sausage fat  burnt on the bottom of the roasting tin and has stank the house out since Thursday night. Just couldn't get of it, despite opening windows, doors,  having fans on, aerosol sprays etc. - awful.

Try this @Lizzie27https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/balsamic-roasted-sausages-red-veg    Nice and juicy so doesn't burn.  I often set it to go off on automatic when I'm going to be home late and hungry after an afternoon of patch and then early evening mosaic class on Mondays.

Thanks @Obelixx.  I think now I didn't put enough onion in with the sausages. My recipe said 40 mins at 200c which I thought was too long, so timed it for 30 mins but should also have turned the heat down as I have a fan oven. I'll know next time.

Morning everyone. The rain here has stopped for a while, and we haven’t received the forecast snow, but it’s still predicted. I wandered out to the garden for a look and everything is looking ok. Short sleeves were enough.

We spent yesterday afternoon watching tv. Not our usual behaviour, but we enjoyed it.  It was “Line of Duty” which some of you had recommended. So, now we’ve seen series one and we are thinking about watching the next series. 🙄🙄

  • Morning Pat E. 2am here and I'm still up cos OH decided he wanted to rip up the flooring in the kitchen. Not quite as random as you m ight think as we know the new stuff is in retailer's warehouse BUT no date yet for laying  it.
    Now he's on the computer!
Weather's been quiet. Cold enough for a coat but unbuttoned.
    Better go, seems it's bedtime.

Hi Mrs-B3.  You might be asleep by now.

I’m knitting a dog coat for a friend’s mooch.  Hubby has asked Alexa to play reggae music, so we’re relaxing inside.  😁😁

We’ve got lots of wind today. The trees are swaying in all directions.  I think it might be another inside day. 1.40pm here.

Obelixx, thanks for telling us about the Boy Scouts in the war. I’d not heard that story. Very sad. There must be lots more we don’t know about.

Thanks goodness that both our countries are at peace at this time. It’s enough to cope with the virus.

    Good morning everyone.

Another dismal sky but little wind.  Maybe a cycle towards the sea shore for a coffee.  The sun is trying to peep through but alas.....!

Preparing to make a seafood sauerkraut for lunch.  Absolutely delish and totally different from the traditional sauerkraut made with various cured sausages.  Also not as bloating.

    Have a pleasant Sunday all.

  • Good morning all 😊 ☕️ very odd dreams about rescuing pigeons.
One of those grey November mornings when the autumn leaves really glow in the mist. It should make for some atmospheric images at the cenotaph this morning.

@tui34 I’ve not tried a seafood sauerkraut but I love the traditional bone and I love seafood so … if there’s any left … 😉
