Maybe OH can give you a cuddle @Dovefromabove :D But now you have a dull day ahead of you with nothing to do!Ā  ;)

    Morning all.

We are going to the GC to look for those big plastic hands for picking up leaves. Wish I'd had them yesterday. Also need milk so SM too.

Hats off to you @Dovefromabove!Ā  All I've done is a bit of admin for the Christmas Street Market and the Lights Switch-On.Ā
But excited that in January the Fine Women (a group of 5 of us who were all at uni together as mature students aeons ago) will be meeting at one of the Fines' home in Kent and having a sleepover!Ā  Fine wine and Fine chat will be very much on the cards.

Hello folks, it's a dull day here, thick fog at 8 am, couldn't even see the hills opposite.
Rotten night, woke up with stomach acheĀ  again at 3.30 am, so got up and read for a bit then went back to bed but ache still kept me awake. Thought I had been provisionally booked in to see my GP today about it but when I phoned at 8am to enquire the time slot, all I got is that she will phone sometime this afternoon. Fingers crossed.

@Busy-Lizzie, see if you can get the leaf collection gadget with long handles on the grabbers, it's much better and saves you bending down so far.

I've only got ironing to do this afternoon, I washed the bed linen this morning and it's in the tumble dryer, in fact it's probably stoppedĀ  now so I'd better investigate. My GW magazine has just arrived so that will keep me occupied until the GP rings.

Red velvet cake sounds divine DD, unhappily I can't eat cakeĀ  any more unless it's a tiny slice.

  • @Busy-Lizzie IĀ  was thinking the same as @Lizzie27 re the leaf grabbers.Ā  IĀ  got some cheap ones from Robert Dias a couple of seasons ago,Ā  they save a lot of bending. The guy in the shop said thatĀ  some of the council gangs had been buy them.Ā  I am busy squirrel proofing the pots of bulbs (chicken wire mesh).Ā  I have to replace one lot of crocus as they got them a week ago, the upturned mesh basket was too easily dislodged. 😔

My GP phoned earlier. Booked in for blood tests this Thursday and to see her in person next Monday. Good stuff.Ā  She thinks it may possibly be gall bladder related not bowel cancer.

Done the ironing and watched ETTC, they were in Norfolk. Downham Market looked interesting.
Getting very foggy out there. OH has just drawn the curtains to blot it all out.

We watched Escape too @Lizzie27, north east of us.

We had a leaf grabber with long handles, bought in the UKĀ  and taken to France, but they fell apart.

I enjoyed the GC followed by Tesco.

Pleased to hear you’ve got those appointments sorted @Lizzie27 :)

I had a surprise just after lunch ... my son turned up to drive me to have my booster jabĀ  :DĀ  All very organised ... as instructed I arrived at Boots pharmacy at 3.20 for a 3.30 appointment ... everything went like clockwork and I had my third Pfizer jab at 3.30 on the dot ... sat and 'rested' for 15 minutes and then back to my son's car.Ā  Not so much as a twinge in my arm ... so far šŸ¤žĀ  Ā ... OH has made me a cold roast chicken salad with baked sweet potatoes ...Ā  then it'll be tv quiz night ... a very good dayĀ  B)

Evening Forkers.Ā  Been out at patch all afternoon and busy prepping for it this morning - everyone's in Xmas dec mode or making wee prezzies or place mats and so on which means lots of examples, instructions and patterns to organise.Ā  Ā Lots of ladies missing at the mo because the more susceptible are staying at home till they've had their booster.Ā  I'm back to checking Covid Passes every week and we all have to wear masks.Ā  Ā Not having the booster in time invalidates the Covid Pass and is a severe restriction on movement - no access to public spaces, public transport, cinemas, restaurants, bars, discos etc.

No leaf grabber here.Ā  Ā OH either rakes them up and scoops them into a barro or uses the mower to collect them.

Chooks seem none the worse for wear today except for loads of feathers in their cabin.Ā  Moulting again?Ā  They were all hiding in the raspberry patch to avoid a cold northerly breeze that has made today feel mighty cold.Ā  Ā I gave them their mixed grain rice cooked with thyme (vet's advice) in the polytunnel.

That red velvet cake looks very elaborate @D0rdogne_Damsel.Ā  The most any cake I make gets is a chocolate ganache or a butter or cream cheese frosting on top but then I do tend only to do them for group meetings so need to transport them.Ā  Don't even ice the Xmas cake as neither of us likes marzipan or royal icing.

Have fun with the curtains @chicky.Ā  Ā  Been there, done that.
