  • Pa said he'd given up waiting for Herbert (his second name) to come back into fashion ... I once worked with a musician called Herbert and told Pa about him and gave him a recording ... but apparently it didn't count as that Herbert was Dutch.

    I know a Gillian in her 20s ... but she's Scottish ...

Had my flu jab, the most uncomfortable one I've ever had. Felt as though the needle was blunt, then she wiggled it about then injected very fast, ouch.

Been boosted today, no, I haven't been listening to BJ. I had been waiting to be contacted by our local GP group who are organising jabs but hadn't heard yet. My OH who was a couple of weeks behind me getting her first two jabs was contacted however and booked in for today so I got mine too as a walk-in as I drove her there.
Putting the kitchen back together after painting it, probably 50+ years since it got its last (and first) coat of paint. It was a light-sucking municipal toilet duck-egg blue which took four coats to cover up and I am still not sure it won't reappear. The ceiling covered more easily once we got the adhesive blobs from the polystyrene tiles off - several days of scraping required. If my arms are sore it isn't from the Covid jab!

Evening folks. Thanks for all the warm wishes, I didn't even know I had a Saint day so thanks @tui34.

Went into town this morning for a haircut, daren't let OH have a go and would sooner pay for a professional. Took nearly an hour though just to travel 3 miles on the bus as it's apparently now been reduced to half-hourly. It serves the local hospital so that's not very convenient for people who have appointments there. It used to be every 15 mins when we first moved here for just that reason.

I bought a small presie for my little granddaughter for her ballet show at the end of next week, a silver chain with her initial on it, hope she likes it. She's 10 so I can start giving her jewellery can't I? She's not too young?

I also bought myself a white cotton top with lace inserts on the yoke but cut off the shoulder frills when I got home. Couldn't persuade myself frills went with my geriatic face! I did see a smashing silver evening jacket though, it was either silver lame or sequins, can't remember which, just right for wearing over a long evening dress,. Then reality set in, haven't worn evening dress for nearly two years, will we ever get dressed up for a night out again?

That sounds very painful @Busy-Lizzie, I'm rather apprehensive about my blood tests on Thursday, the nurse has an awful job to get blood out of me.

A surprise indeed, but simply based on tonight's show ( as it should be ) very fair.
    Devon.
  • Problem was @Hostafan1 that I’d nodded off during the technical … then woke up just as Matt announced who was leaving … I had to ‘rewind’ and watch again so I was late to bed😧

Now it’s time to say Good morning folks 😊 ☕️

This morning I will be taking OH to have his booster 👍

    Good morning to you all.

    @Lizzie27   You're welcome!

Dug over some garden yesterday after the rain.  The ground was like butter.  It was a pleasure.  Maybe an hour's weeding today.  Strong winds prevail which doesn't make it a pleasant task.  At least the ground is soft.

    Enjoy your day.

Morning folks, just getting light. I also watched Bake Off, don't normally, find some of the presenters annoying. I wonder if they are deliberately trying to put the contestants off their stride. Hubby did very well on the previous nights University Challenge, recorded. Coffee with friend day
    See you later
