Feeling poorly today with heavy stomach. Weather is dismal here too @floralies but not windy - just grey. Got some weeding done yesterday - yaay - and pruned the lavender - heavenly smells!!
Tender thoughts to you @punkdoc I agree with the others, maybe follow up advice is needed - or just a sympathetic ear. Rest.
Enjoy your day everyone. It's the weekend tomorrow! Tui
It really is grey and miserable outside ... it's not properly light and looks like almost 100% humidity ... having been married to the building trade for 20+ years I'm almost feeling sorry for the roofers on the house across the way ... it must be horrid retiling a roof in these wet and slippery conditions.
However, on the brighter side, OH is at home and my kitchen cupboard is finished and he is washing and putting all the contents back ... crockery, casseroles, baking tins etc. I am of course, interfering a bit ... 'that can't go back there, I use it every day!' sort of interference.
I'm also finishing off the shopping list ... when I've finished my coffee I'll be off to the farm shop and butcher ... can I pick anything up for anyone? They do those lovely crisp little Italian cakes filled with lemon or pistachio cream .... 😋

Hugs to you @punkdoc - your body clearly needs more rest. Do pop in to this thread though as you have so many who genuinely care for you here. @Allotment Boy - nice to hear from old friends. Go to the do - raise a private glass to your brother and enjoy being with your friends. Can you get me some Portuguese custard tarts @Dovefromabove ? They used to sell them in our local deli and they were my Friday treat. But the lady who made them went back to Portugal. The plan for today was to do more work on the veggy plot but it looks so grey and wet out there it is not very inviting. Perhaps I'll get ahead on my paperwork.
OH is cross. Does anyone have trouble making an appointment to see their GP? OH had made an appointment for a phone call with his which he waited 4 weeks for. The GP said on the phone that she would make an appointment on 7th December to see him. He has just rung the surgery to find out what time, only to be told it's another phone appointment as the GPs at the practice are not doing physical appointments, only phone calls.
No wonder ambulances in Norfolk are waiting in hospital carparks for hours waiting to unload patients into A&E. Someone died the other day because there wasn't an ambulance free to take them to hospital.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
@Busy-Lizzie I think it varies with different GP practices. Mr C had a problem with his arm a couple of months back. Had a phone appointment to start with, but when it became clear that a diagnosis would not be possible on the phone, a face to face appointment was made for the following day. Our GP used to do phone appointments long before Covid - I preferred them as I didn’t have to take time off work.
Keep with us @punkdoc - and try to avoid the baiters. Hope you turn the corner with this virus soon.
It's the same at our GP practice @chicky ...an email enquiry on their website followed by a phone call from the GP and then a face to face consultation/examination within a couple of days, or even on one occasion the same day. Works a treat.
I wonder if the person who answered the phone to @BusyLizzie 's OH's did not take on board that this was a physical appointment already arranged with the GP following a telephone consultation? I think some of the receptionists are so harassed at the moment they're working on auto-pilot.
Can he go on the GP practice website and email a message with his query, referring to the fact that he's already had the telephone consulation?

Portuguese custard tarts coming over @didyw ... hope you've got a big 'landing net' to catch them in. Have you tried the ones from the Magpie Bakery and the Black Olive deli at Southwold ?... <drooling smiley>
A very successful trip to the farm shop and butcher. We will have oven-bake haddock and chips for supper today, a locally made sour-dough pizza with salad tomorrow, barn reared chicken for Sunday, then there'll be the chicken to finish up for the next couple of days, and I got some prawns for linguine on Wednesday and pork chops for Thursday. And of course lots of lovely local cheese, fruit and veg have come home with me too. We won't starve.
