@Dovefromabove & @Obelixx, perhaps it was a London thing but there was a period, maybe mid late 70's 80's when it only seemed to be marked on the nearest Sunday although I know there were small services around the country on the actual date.Ā Then the Britsh legion began to push for the silence and services to be on theĀ actual date again. Ā One thing I always remember as a boy on my father's Allotments,Ā on remembrance SundayĀ you could hear the repeater guns and everyone stopped and stood at the end of their plots, for the 2 minutes,Ā then everyone went back to doing their work,Ā nothing was ever said, it just happened.
Good morning Forkers. Rain here šš. According to the weather channel, itās raining all over the country, even Alice Springs. In past years they used to hold a āHenley on Toddā, but Iāve not heard it mentioned recently.
Not finding the forum a happy or a fair place at the moment, unhappy with @Daniel Haynes lack of response to my complaints, so for my own mental health, I think it is better if I take a step back.
Still bed bound by this dreadful virus, no sign of my voice coming back.
Stay well.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Punkdoc, you have had it bad. Iām assuming you have spoken to another doctor, and not just fighting it out on your own? Whatever youāve got has really knocked you for six. maybe we need a special thread just for you to check in and collect all the good wishes we are sending you? You can ignore the rest!
Good morning all š āļøĀ Im sorry youāre still feeling so grim @punkdoc ⦠you know you have many many real friends here š¤Ā You also know that you canāt please all the people all the time ⦠and what canāt be cured must be endured, and that goes for the annoyances of life including on forums. So say your piece and then leave it be. Those who know you and who you are, and those who have the sense to look into things properly, will get what youāre saying. As for the others⦠you/we canāt win āem all, much as we would like to š¤Ā Take care of yourself, do as Moira tells you, keep up with the medicinal hot toddies ⦠read books if youāre up to it, watch silly tv or listen to light podcasts if youāre not ⦠I recommend R4E ⦠good for the soul and wonāt make you feel that youāve got to get out of bed and do something now, which a lot of other stuff does to me and raises my anxiety levels ⦠thereās a lot to be said for spending an afternoon with Lord Peter Wimsey, or driving around Midsomer with Bergerac and Vera𤣠 Youāre allowed time off for good behaviour you know š¤Ā

Morning everyone,Ā wet again here,Ā when will I get this garden done.Ā Had a call from a long standing friend last night they are coming to London next week and want to stay over which will be great. His brother has just turned 70, & we have been invited to the do that they are coming up for. IĀ am a bit torn as it made me realise my late brother would have been 70 earlier this year. I hadn't twigged before that they were only a few months apart in age. Not sure how I will feel.Ā @punkdoc please stay with us.Ā I really wonder if you should seek more help from your GP.Ā This has dragged on too long.Ā
Hello all, grey and chilly here at the moment but the sun is supposed to appear.....we shall see. The washing is on, I so dislike drying it indoors. Hugs to you @punkdoc you do have so many friends here you would miss our smiling facesĀ , this virus has dragged you down, maybe time to get checked over?
