  • I think back in the day we took up a couple of offers from a newspaper, we weren't disappointed.
It's your choice, don't be influenced by other people running such offers down.

Surely one of the great things about a forum like this, is to use the experience that other posters have gained of on line suppliers?
It is something this forum has always done and it has, I think been very valuable to many people.
So, in my opinion, do be influenced by other people.

Let's stay on topic, rather than make "blanket" statements.

Unless someone can catagorically say they've had a specific problem from an offer from the particular newspaper in question, which of course could be helpful, what use is it?

Newspapers aren't looking to incurr any damage to whatever reputation they have left by offering "dodgy deals."

Many of the newspaper and magazine offers are supplied by Thompson & Morgan.
You can put "Thompson & Morgan" into the Search on this site and see lots of folks' experiences.
As I've explained before on another thread @Doghouse Riley, the primary purpose of this forum is for gardeners to help each other by answering their queries, from their own knowledge and experiences. The OP on this thread asked the question ... others have responded.
It's not as if we're giving unsolicited advice.
    :)

Well actually, I think that might have been helpful,  rather  than running down such offers, "out of hand," don't you?

    Probably not.

But that's the point @Doghouse Riley ... you responded according to your knowledge and experience, as did I and others.  The OP can then weigh up their options.

    Hmm..

    But you posted.

"Personally I wouldn’t buy from a newspaper offer."

That's neither expressing, "knowledge" nor  "experience."

Without a direct reference to your post, It's what I called "dismissing it out of hand,."
