5000 IU not so much (bigger than the current NHS recommendation which says don't take more than 4000 IU, but maybe that isn't up to date with current research).
I'm follow advice of an ME/thyroid consultant, following detailed blood work over the last two years. It seems to be helping.

Just thinking "aloud" here. My instinct is that more than the recommendation is fine under medical supervision like you have, but I don't think I'd do it without that supervision.

I would be concerned about buying any vitamin tablets online, you have no way of knowing whether they are a good quality and what they say they are, or totally false.
Would you say mine are from a genuine company or not,

Doctors I have known have recommended Biovea to me as a company. I wouldn't buy from a brand you don't know well.  Don't be tempted by cheapo offers on Ebay or Amazon, as yes, you have no idea what you're getting and no easy way of checking.

Make sure the bottle or pill packs you receive are sealed.

Out of curiosity I googled the company supplying the product that @Lyn linked, Zipvit. As far as I can tell it looks like a reputable UK-based company. The only thing I found that might be of concern was a supreme court case involving VAT. Nothing to cast any doubt on their products. I certainly wouldn't recommend buying supplements if you can't find out anything about the company supplying them.

Thank you @Jenny,  I always check when I buy from the internet.  This company seemed ok to me.

Up thread I mentioned that I bought my tablets on eBay. Can I add that before I made the purchase I checked the company out: they’re Edinburgh based and only use UK manufacturers. Their feedback scores are exemplary.

I bought the same dosage as Dove but over five times as many for less than double  the price. Unfortunately they are currently out of stock.

Cheers @Topbird … we’ve got a few months supply left but they usually have a good use by date … OH will be going there tomorrow. I’ll get him to check it out. 😊
