@Ante30 good morning to you. Of course it is All Saints Day today so now I understand the holiday. I can imagine your cats surprise when they saw the hedgehog. One of my previous cats used to be fascinated too and was always trying to poke the hedgehog with his paw. Its pouring with rain here!
Jack is showing no signs whatever of having caught Covid. I think he may just be a carrier. He is still struggling with the shingles but when I spoke to him yesterday he sounds absolutely fine.
@Chivetalking, I am pleased to hear that your son arrived safely last night. Hope you have a lovely day with the small people.
@star gaze lily I find it easier adapting to this clock change as the extra hour in bed is welcome. The clock change in Spring is awful. I think the right person left. Its always sad when that happens. Arm is a bit stiff this morning but no pain and no real problem. I've had worse aches from gardening.
Time for tea
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Good morning everyone . I was so sorry to hear your news TBird . I hope your friend is improving. It’s so sad about the young mans diagnosis.Life can be very tough . LB sorry to hear that your friends daughter has been diagnosed with the same condition. It seems so unfair and at such a young age . Lily I hope that you managed to get back to sleep. Ante your cats will have been fascinated by the hedgehog . Brain has run dry ,need tea .
Good morning Lily, Ante and LB. white rabbits x 3. Welcome to November. Chive good to hear your son arrived safely. I hope all goes well. It’s been raining heavily overnight, pitter pat, pitter pat. LB I’m glad you’ve had no adverse effects from your COVID vaccination. Lily I hope you are sleeping now. I’m just waiting to put some towels in Lily’s tv. Unfortunately a tile has lifted so I will need to think again🤔. Time for a cuppa. Ante I hope you have a good day with the students and fellow teachers.
Good morning Ruby and RosieBB. Ruby, how are your bruises today? Have they turned all those interesting shades of yellow, green and purple? RosieBB, I know that there are some adhesives that will not 'stick' if they are put on top of another adhesive so maybe that could be the problem with your tile. Is there any chance you could lift the tile, clean its base off completely and the floor underneath and then try sticking down again?

I was so sorry to read your post @Topbird. No wonder you feel low. I hope your friend makes a good recovery, but I expect it will take time. How sad about the young man.
I hope your friend's daughter makes a good recovery too, LB.
I don't like the winter clock change either. I wish we could keep summer time. The French voted to keep summer time and it should have started this year but what with Covid and neighbouring EU countries they aren't doing it.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Hello all …. Hope this will be a positive week for us all … special thoughts are with @Busy-Lizzie and @Topbird 🤗 We are starting the week with a blue sky and sunshine … hope everyone feels the benefit 🌞
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
White Rabbits! 🐇🐇🐇 Morning everyone, got back to sleep eventually for a couple of hours. Feeling rather fuzzy at the moment, need another cup of tea. Hope you all have a good day. Wish they'd scrap the clock change here @Busy-Lizzie
LB I do have a rainbow of bruises and they have been quite painful . Easing off a bit now . I am with you Lily . I wish they would scrap the clock changes .
I am with SGL and you Ruby. Absolutely pointless changing the hours in this day and age. Here is a bit of history for you.
Why do we change the clocks?
The American politician and inventor, Benjamin Franklin first came up with the idea while in Paris in 1784. He suggested that if people got up earlier, when it was lighter, then it would save on candles.
The idea arrived in the UK after Coldplay singer Chris Martin's
great-great-grandfather, a builder called William Willett, thought it
was a good idea too. In 1907, he published a leaflet called The Waste of Daylight, encouraging people to get out of bed earlier.
Willett was a keen golfer and he got cross when his games would be cut
short because the sun went down and there wasn't enough light to carry
on playing.
The
idea of moving the clocks forwards and backwards was discussed by the
government in 1908, but many people didn't like it so it wasn't made a
law. Willett
spent his life trying to convince people that it was a good idea, but
it was only introduced in the UK in 1916 - a year after he died.
It was actually first introduced by the Germans in World World One, just before the UK did it.

Now you know who to blame blinking Americans, golfers and Germans!

I think I could blame that trio for a lot of things LB 😁
Thank you for your kind words of support everyone - somehow it made a difference writing it all down so I feel a little less weight bearing down on my shoulders today. The sun is shining too which makes a difference.
LB - I'm so sorry to hear about your friend's daughter. I do hope they can offer her a successful course of treatment. It will be very tough for her and her family. I'm glad Jack isn't struggling with Covid as well as shingles.
Rubee - good to hear the bruises are subsiding a little. Your fall must have shaken you up. Very easy to slip on the stairs - I don't mind going up but hate coming down and have slipped once too often.
Chive - back to work for you. No doubt the little ones will be on the countdown to C*****mas this term. Anybody else annoyed by the adverts encouraging us to get our festive shopping early?
Sorry to hear some of your sleep patterns are affected so much by the clock changes. It doesn't affect my sleep so much but I do spend the first few days constantly checking clocks because I can't keep track of the right time.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
