I did quite a bit of shooting with the cadets, both live round and blanks. Gun safety was drilled into us at all times and if you weren't treating blank rounds as if they were live then you were going to get in a lot of trouble. We were told again and again that blank rounds can kill or seriously hurt people so I just can't understand how actors are even allowed to use them as props like this.
Nor me. surely it could be done with replica weapons, special effects and decent acting and direction. That's assuming it's necessary to have violence in films at all.

I expect the low budget, and the fact that several members of the crew had already walked out, suggests things weren't being properly attended to during the whole process. Brandon Lee [Bruce's son] was killed with blanks. I see the delightful Trump family haven't been slow to have a go either. They really are a despicable bunch.

To be fair DT Jr has a lot of experience with guns. He's shot rare and endangered species all over the world. Including that time he spent $77k of taxpayers' money to illegally shoot a sheep.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
Hasn't Baldwin been in films with guns, even westerns before now? Ultimately if you fire a gun you're the last one to be responsible. Would you not check the gun before you did anything with it, especially if handling guns in movies was not new to you?
There's classes in acting with weapons, there's a culture of guns, there's a history of using guns in films. How many times have you seen characters in films get handed guns and immediately check the chamber and gun out?
Something went wrong with that film set but I would not let safety just be someone else's responsibility if I was an actor. I know enough to know before acting with a weapon I would need to know how to use the weapon starting with safety and feel of a real, live gun. I would learn how to load my own gun and would reload it before using it. That's just me, I don't use anything without being taught how to use it. Whether following the trained operator or being taught by such a person.
Isn't killing someone without intention or expectation of death still manslaughter?
I've been involved with semi-pro productions using stunt weapons ... knives and swords rather than guns ... even so the preparation, training and precautions were incredibly stringent. Something happened on set that was not in line with the normal safety procedures. I've no idea who 'lays down the law' about such safety procedures in the US film industry ... I wonder if it's the unions ... apparently there was a union dispute going on ...
@NorthernJoe ... I don't think you would be allowed to load your own gun ... that would be the responsibility of the armourer.

DT and DT Jr are both ignorant, over privileged tawts who should have the influence their abilities and intelligence deserves. Namely complete obscurity and unimportance. I dislike giving narcissists any attention. Please don't post links to what they say, please!

Are mobile phone shop staff the modern used car salesmen now that used car salesmen have mostly improved their act? I went into o2 shop yesterday and the oily salesman put me right off so I walked out without asking all the questions. Couldn't face the ee store next door as they are usually worse!
When I buy a phone and get a new contract it'll be online I think. The old three shop I last bought from weren't half as bad. I now live further away from a three store so not one I'll visit I think.
But still, why spread stories about what those idiots say? It's not what I can do but what are others doing spreading links about the Trump family? Isn't it better they slip out of the news?
More views of certain stories increases them in the news search algorithms which in turn increases the views and news ranking. We'll never be rid of them that way. That's all I'm saying.
I've not clicked on those links but who on here has who wasn't aware of the article before?
