I didn't think it was a fault at all, Silver. Just something that happens in discussions where you talk about maybes and maybe-nots different options. I thought it looked like my "Dromore" which I love long before I saw your picture.
jonathan.cole..it was my fault. Confusion has clearly arisen in the comments on these posts because of a pic I posted of Lythrum which has 6 petals. Please see my posts above.
There is only confusion because Jac19 refuses to listen when people offer corrections and instead argues and then insults people. Unfortunately this has been going on for a few days.
Sorry, but you do not have a blue version of a plant called Dropmore. There is no species of plant called Dropmore. There are varieties of several plants that have dropmore in their titles, but these plants are all very different and statements like yours will lead to confusion.
Also I am not a psycho stalker, or any of the far worse things you have called me. I have tried to help you, as have others, but have been met with terrible abuse.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
> clearly it was not this Lythrum , that you correctly say has 6 thin petals.
Ah, yes, Silver. Google does a picture likeness search and put up pictures of other things that its bots think look like the actual one you are searching for. Easy mistake I have made before also to pick one of those likeness images.
Jac19 The internet is just amazing and extremely useful However many of the really clever people that help to id plants on here do not need to look for images on google as they grow the plants. I grew Persicaria affinis . I know it well .....the height of the flowering spikes the leaves and how the flowers change colour as they die, how the roots spread until it forms huge patches.etc etc I had to double check how many petals it had, as like everyone I cannot hope to remember everything.
You also have to be very careful..there are MANY pics on the www that are labelled incorrectly. Do not trust everything you see.
Keep looking and learning. I learn something new every day.
I am so very very sorry my Lythrum pic kicked of so much horrid confusion.

Statements like "Percicaria has 6 petals" and "What are you talking about a flower without petals?" are not maybe and maybe-not opinions. You are simply wrong.
It's not hard. We are all wrong sometimes. The key is to realise and learn, not argue and insult those who correct you.
I understand where you are coming from @Silver surfer, but you are unaware of the abusive posts from @Jac19, which were vile and were addressed to several forum members. The abuse I received one night was truly vile, but was probably removed before most members saw it. They have been removed and @Jac19 has been warned by the mods. about her future conduct.

I just made a very valid suggestion, very nicely. The way you are stamping down on my nice post like a ton of bricks is abusive.
Stuff your self righteous antagonism, Jonathan Cole.
Puncdoc was the abuser, stalker, liar, and hatemonger. I only called out to stop his abuse. You saw the names he called me defaming me out of the blue, entirely without my ever talking to him.
@Jac19 for goodness sake behave like an intelligent adult and use a bit of common sense. Many people here have tried to draw a line under your past behaviour, and make you feel welcome so that you understand the benefits of behaving in a more acceptable way.
Have you read the link I posted which explains clearly the international plant naming? … I posted it to help you. It seems to have gone over your head.

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Please accept my apologies.
I despair.
I have tried to pour oil on this troubled water.
Why cannot you ALL move on and stop stirring the pot.
Just leave it alone.
