Morning all, yes, very blowy and lashing rain. Now sunny/windy.auntyrach,hubby complains about the dogs er"washing" Habits. I said it was his fault,he never taught them how to use a flannel! Having said our toy Leo, he's 15 since we moved here 10 years ago,he is long haired, some times "things" get stuck in his under tail fur, every time,he comes up to us,then goes into the bathroom, jumps in the bath and waits for a shower. To be fair,he is too small to reach it himself!

Morning all, sunny and dry here after absolutely torrential rain last night just as we were going to bed. It's much colder so it's woolly pully time as you said @Dovefromabove. Smashing photo of St Ives, so thanks for that.
You'd be far too isolated for my liking @Pat E, I like my neighbours and street lights!
Good luck with the journey tomorrow @Busy-Lizzie, hope the crossing's not too stormy.
Sorry I misunderstood you about the cemetery flowers, I had thought the tradition was for just yellow ones.
I'm just going to meet a friend for a chat and coffee at a homewares store, Dunelms in Bristol. She needs some kitchen stuff and I can pick up some bits and pieces which I can't easily get in Bath.

Good Morning all, the wind and rain passed us by so still quite mild. Belated Anniversary wishes @Pat E I will remember next year as it was also my birthday yesterday.
We didn't do anything exciting as we had window fitters here replacing all the windows in our new extension...long story with a court case which is ongoing and I shall relate when it is over!
Dentist appointment at lunch time today, he is fitting me in as I have had a lot of pain. Such an exciting life - not at the moment!
Catch up with you all later.

Belated Happy anniversary and birthday wishes. A lot of you seem to be having birthdays around now, I bet some astrologers would be having a field day with links between star signs and gardening.
Had a really rowdy night, what with howling gale and torrential rain, but lovely and sunny this morning. Have abandoned the house jobs and made our way to the seaside for a very late breakfast and a walk on the prom. Thought we might have problems on the road past the river, and sure enough, there was a bit of a flood on the road, and the school playground was under water. The repair garage next to the river had moved all their cars up onto the bridge, then kindly positioned two people by the flood to advise us to stick to the left hand side to get through safely. So here we are by the seafront, enjoying the sun sparkling off the water. Lovely. The guilt feelings can wait till later!

Never feel guilt about getting some rays in Autumn, we met get many months with no sun at all.

Never think that life isn't exciting in the suburbs .... last week the house across the rise (second in from the corner) had the old flat roof on the garage and porch removed and replaced. The last of the work was done on Monday morning.

About half an hour ago the roofers' van and their boss's pickup truck screeched around the corner on two wheels with blue smoke coming from the tyres (ok I exaggerate a little, but it was enough to make me look up from folding the clean laundry and putting it away in my undie drawer). The boss then climbed up on top of the van and stood surveying the roof with his hands on his hips .... now the men are unloading ladders and the boss is in the driveway talking on his phone and gesticulating a bit

Did I say earlier that we'd had torrential rain this morning?

I don't envy those roofers and their boss ... we have the feeling that Mrs Blue Blind who lives there is a force to be reckoned with 😲

I like the sound of Mrs Blue Blind @Dovefromabove she definitely got the roofers' attention quickly.
Back from the dentist, he says there is no sign of infection where my teeth and gums hurt so there must be some other explanation, probably sinuses. Oh yes and the Dentist is in the Rue l'abbatoir  :open_mouth:

90 minutes later and the roofers have gone ... have they fixed it ... will they return ... to be continued .... or not,  as the case may be ....
