Thanks Dove. By the way, I’ve been meaning to ask you about the beanies. Should I see it up all the way to the base, or leave a bit for turn over. I’ve been trying it at different parts, but not sure. I’ve finished three and half way through a fourth.
Good morning Forkers. Another sunny but chilly start here so not heading outside just yet but lots to do when we do. OH has finished strimming the wild bit in the middle between the pond and the ruin. Only about 50m x 50m so took most of the day. We're going to pile up the "hay" ready to use as a blanket for the dahlias and their seep hose this winter.
More bulbs for me to plant.
No idea what Rasta has done @Dovefromabove as she won't allow close inspection. She was fine when we went out last night but not when we got home 3 hours later. It is now swollen and bald so we've put on a makeshift collar till I can get her to the vet. I've tied one of those neck rests for car travel round her and she's using it as a cushion with her tail tucked under so I can't get at it.
Well done you and @Pat E for knitting beanies. Not my thing but I have just donated a whole pile of good cotton Fairtrade T-shirts to the Red Cross collection as they're now too big.
Forgot to say, steak here is about 25€ a kilo for Limousin or Blonde d'Aquitaine which are local. Less for generic French steaks with no race mentioned. Lamb shoulder is usually 17€ a kilo and leg 22 or 23€. Pork fillet about 10€ and belly pork about 7€.
Pre-wrapped broccoli is 99 cents for enough for one meal - but we eat a lot of veg. Haven't bought cauli lately as Possum thinks she doesn't like it.

Tui34 haha,I'm a lazy cow actually. I get fuming with people who say they are bored. It's 10.46 I m not dressed!!! Have been writing to a good friend of over 35 years whose hubby is in hospital, and quick read if the Sundays. Looking at a couple of Mary Berry recipes,pepper/beetroot,/feta tart, veg curry, por moi!
Hugs to you @Pat E 2 hours in the garden @punkdoc - not bad! Don't push yourself! That was the price our local 'posh' butcher quoted @Nanny Beach. We shop in the local shops rather than drive to the next town to shop in the supermarkets. I made the mistake of seeing how much the house we sold in Twickenham 20 years ago would be going for now. Eye watering. Thank you for all your words of encouragement everyone. I will rise above, not get into any spats with her and just carry on about my business. And where that business involves her I shall simply be super polite to her. *Looks down from moral high ground*.

The ones I made were a single rib so quite stretchy, so I sewed them all the way, but had the seam 'on the other side' for the bottom third so that it looked neat when folded back.

@Didyw .... you could always mention that you 'd obviously assumed she was more technically able ... isn't everyone? ... perhaps suggest an evening class?
@punkdoc ... I think two hours in the garden is fine too .... it's plenty for me and that's with OH doing the heavier stuff .. flamin 'eck ... it's a hobby not a job ... no one's cracking the whip. Do it at a gentle pace and enjoy it.
@obelixx ... poor Rasta ... sounds horrid ... I hope the vet can get to the bottom of it (sorry ) PDQ

Morning all. Hugs to all who need them, especially @Pat E and @punkdoc. I was up at 5. 70mile round trip to visit Hubby, spend 90mins with him, filled up with petrol, shopped at Lidl, and Waitrose on the way home and back indoors by 11am
Well, I did the standard "manly" thing, when tired and in a bad mood. I selected a very overgrown contorted Hazel, and I attacked it with a vengeance. It is a lot smaller, and I am knackered.
