The problem is that,  tempting as that option is, it then leaves new folk with queries at the mercy of some very unhelpful advice. At least if more knowledgeable folk see it they can point out the misunderstandings and save people from making expensive mistakes.
On that subject, I should confess that my Prunus deliriumii ( the orange flowered one with the tasty fruit ripening in the winter ) doesn't actually exist.  I don't expect anyone was fooled ..........but just in case  ;)

@Dovefromabove is right about the downside of using it. You are now aware of this particular problem poster and hopefully you and others will be able to suss out similar issues in future with the help of genuine posts.  Easy to say but don't let it bother you to the extent that you stop using the Forum :)

I’m not aware of any standard follow up  😊
One thread has already been closed.  As you say, wrong information is worse than no information.

I disagree - forums should not be “purified” for one opinion, they should allow for disagreement (such as this post :) )

Each person can decide Whether they want to ignore or adhere to the variety of opinions here, even if some are deeply unpopular or run against the current received wisdom.

Whilst @Jac19 is clearly offended by others responses, his/her informative posts are not without merit even if a group of people disagree with them.  There *is* a clique on this forum, and it quickly gangs up on anyone who does not conform to their way of thinking whether it be gardening, gardeners world TV, politics or even cats!

    Good wasn't it @Loxley:D
Nothing compared to what my ex partner used to call me when he was blind drunk though...
I've taken that bit out in the edit. Best  not left.

@JoeX - that's as maybe, but calling people slandering bitching trolls etc, isn't an appropriate way to behave - on any forum  :)
    Indeed.

The best way to avoid that is to avoid ad hominem altogether in my experience, no matter how softly spoken.  As soon as you attack the person you undermine your own position as well as triggering the kind of outrage we’ve seen here.  Attack the message alone and you maintain credibility.

Sorry @TheGreenMan. I wrote that then realised it was more than I wanted to divulge. My post might look a bit odd now   :)
That was only part of it for me too.
    I hope you're ok now x
